The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
